KFC Saucy Nugget Dispensary

 

This might be my favorite project I’ve ever had the privilege of writing strategy for. There was no formal brief, just strategists and creatives riffing after hours. We’d just visited the KFC  test kitchen in Louisville and were struck by how each sauce felt like a wine tasting – so much craft, complexity, and intention behind each flavor. Then my Creative Director said “It’s like when the cannabis connoisseur nerds out on the types of weed at a dispensary.” Boom. Idea born. 

Issue: People think of KFC for chicken on the bone, not nuggets.

​Insight: What separates one nugget from another is the sauce, it’s where all the personality, craft, and flavor lives.

​Idea: KFC Nugget Dispensary: a pop-up designed to look and feel like a boutique cannabis dispensary, where fans sampled five Saucy Nugget flavor

​Impact: Served 1,000+ attendees and 15,000 nuggets in a single day, Achieved 1 billion+ earned media impressions, 36 media placements, 120 + social mentions
